Resumo: Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor (AOT) is a well-recognised slow growing benign tumor usually diagnosed in the second decade of life. Herein, we report an unusual case of a 75-year-old female patient presenting an asymptomatic volume growth located in the anterior maxillary region. The patient reported a 10 year-evolution of the mass, stating its continuous growth overtime, however, sought care only now due to the impossibility of the removable denture use. Extraoral examination was non-contributory. At the intraoral exam, a normochromic, well-defined submucous mass and fibroelastic consistency was observed at the anterior region of the maxilla. The panoramic radiography revealed a radiolucency with well-defined borders with discrete radiopaque spots. The diagnostic hypotheses were AOT and Calcifying Odontogenic Cyst and an excisional biopsy under general anesthesia was carried out. The histopathological confirmed the AOT diagnosis. Patient recovery was uneventful and at a 2-year follow-up there are no signs of local recurrence.
