Resumo: In Brazil, oral cavity cancer ranks eighth, and treatments can include surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiotherapy. This study presents the outcomes of 20 head and neck cancer patients treated in 2023, comprising 13 males and 7 females, with a mean age of 69.1 years. Histological diagnoses revealed 19 cases of squamous cell carcinoma, with 5 cases associated with human papillomavirus (HPV) 16 and 1 case of melanoma. Regarding treatments, all patients underwent Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), 10 patients underwent surgery, 9 received chemotherapy, and 2 underwent immunotherapy. All patients received daily stomatological monitoring and photobiomodulation therapy. Outcomes during treatment included 15 patients experiencing ageusia, only 1 requiring nasoenteral tube placement due to grade 3 mucositis, 13 patients with mucositis between grades 1 and 2, and 6 patients having no mucositis. These outcomes underscore the importance of stomatological monitoring during oncological treatment, reducing morbidity, and enhancing quality of life.
