Resumo: Clinical case report of breast cancer metastasis to the facial region. Patient, female, 93 years old, with facial deformity and diagnosed with breast cancer ten years ago, presenting different lesions on the face.
The incisional biopsy procedure was performed at home, due to the patients limitations, and the fragments were taken from three different regions. The material was sent for analysis and the report concluded about these fragments: granulomatous lesion caused by polymethylmethacrylate, skin fragment with neoplastic epithelial cells (immunohistochemical reaction compatible with metastatic breast carcinoma) and dense fibrous tissue.
In conclusion, we highlight the importance of adapting care to the patients conditions and collecting different fragments, according to the characteristics of each type of change. Furthermore, it is essential to have a processing structure that performs complementary tests, such as immunohistochemistry, for an assertive result, which allows the correct management of the case.
