Resumo: Hashimotos Thyroiditis (HT) is the leading cause of hypothyroidism and the most prevalent form of thyroid inflammation. This case study focuses on a 15-year-old female with persistent gingival lesions for a year. Clinical examination revealed mild gingival swelling, along with linear and diffuse erythema resembling desquamative gingivitis, extending from the gingival margin to the sulcus base. Biopsy displayed chronic inflammatory infiltrate rich in lymphocytes and plasma cells akin to germinal center formation. Laboratory tests indicated elevated anti-TPO antibodies, TSH levels, and decreased T3 and free T4 thyroid hormones, confirming HT diagnosis. Treatment with 75 mcg levothyroxine daily led to significant lesion improvement. After 6 months of follow-up, the lesions showed complete regression. Oral manifestations in HT patients are rarely documented, underscoring the importance of case reports in understanding their characteristics, diagnostic intricacies, and effective management strategies.Acknowledgment: CNPq e FAPEMIG
