Resumo: Besides high mortality during its peak, COVID-19 is also responsible for long-lasting impairments in some patients. 33-year-old male patient presented multiple persistent lesions on tongues dorsum with slight burning sensation, characterized by erythematous and depapillated areas, surrounded by white borders, compatible with migratory glossitis. Patient states that lesions started a year ago, concomitant with COVID-19 infection. He also reported chronic diarrhea, and was referred to a gastroenterologist, where serologies for infectious diseases (HIV and viral hepatitis) and parasitological tests were requested, all negative. Food intolerance tests were requested. Ani-gliadin and Anti-transglutaminase were positive, followed by a colonoscopy showing generalized chronic inflammation and a reduction in intestinal villi, confirming the diagnosis of celiac disease. After gluten-free diet, tongue lesions disappeared within a week and the gastrointestinal symptoms ceased. The patient has been under follow-up for a year, with the lesions reappearing following gluten intake, with remission after returning to restrictive diet.
