Título: KERATOAMELOBLASTOMA OF THE MANDIBLE AND PROFILE OF CYTOKERATINS: A RARE CASE REPORT

Resumo: A 27-year-old male presented with a chief complaint of a continuously painless swelling located in the region corresponding to the mucosa that supported the teeth 33-37. Radiologic scans showed a multilocular lesion affecting the roots of the referred teeth that extended to the mandible body and base, causing expansion. The previous medical history revealed that was performed an incisional biopsy in 2011 at the same site showed swelling as well. Its microscopic diagnostic was odontogenic keratocyst. However, the patient did not return for surgical treatment. A new incisional biopsy revealed an odontogenic cyst with keratinizing epithelial lining that lacked clear histopathological criteria to sign out as an odontogenic keratocyst. The lesion was totally enucleated and a histopathological diagnosis of keratoameloblastoma was rendered. In addition, a cytokeratin profile was performed and displayed positivity for CK19 among others. There are no signs of recurrence after three years of follow-up.
