Título: ORAL MYELOID SARCOMA IN A PATIENT WITH MYELOFIBROSIS: CASE REPORT

Resumo: Female patient, 63 years old, diagnosed with myelofibrosis approximately 2 years ago, attended the dental office for the extraction of elements 16 and 47, due to significant mobility. Two weeks after the extractions, the patient returned with ulcerated and erythematous swellings, each measuring approximately 3 cm and 3.5 cm and painful, in the areas of extractions. An incisional biopsy was performed at both sites, which showed proliferation of large, round cells, with scarce eosinophilic cytoplasm and nuclei that were sometimes vesicular, sometimes hyperchromatic, suggestive of myeloblasts, organized in arrangements of solid sheets. An immunohistochemical panel was performed with myeloperoxidase, CD20, CD3, CD30, CD1a, Langerin, CD34 and CD138, with only myeloperoxidase showing diffuse positivity. The Ki-67 index was 80%. The patient underwent a myelogram which ruled out leukemic infiltrate. Therefore, the conclusive diagnosis was myeloid sarcoma. The patient died 11 months after diagnosis due to disease progression.
