Resumo: BACKGROUND: Ulcerative Colitis (UC) is an autoimmune intestinal disease characterized by abdominal pain, diarrhea, rectal bleeding, etc. Extraintestinal manifestations, including oral lesions, may help in the diagnosis.Aim: to report a rare case of UC-associated oral manifestations.CASE REPORT: A 71-year-old woman with UC presented with oral and skin lesions of three months´ evolution. She presented with painful necrotic ulcers involving tongue and soft palate. Laboratory tests were altered and biopsies of oral and skin lesions were performed, resulting in the same histopathology: a nonspecific ulcer with an infiltrate predominantly of neutrophils and giant cells. The skin lesion showed areas that tended to abscess. In this clinical context, it was diagnosed as UC-assosicated pyoderma gangrenosum. The patient was referred to her gastroenterologist.CONCLUSION: Oral lesions could contribute to the initial diagnosis of inflammatory bowel diseases and also to the monitoring of UC relapses. These patients should be periodically examined by Oral Medicine specialists.
