Título: INTRAOSSEOUS NON-HODGKIN LYMPHOMA MIMICKING A PERIAPICAL LESION

Resumo: A 44-year-old man reported previously severe pain in tooth 21, which had been endodontically treated. Shortly after, the patient developed swelling on the gingiva and hard palate, and underwent scaling, root planning, and laser therapy procedures. As there was no improvement, the patient was referred for evaluation. Physical examination revealed fibroelastic swelling in the anterior region of the left maxilla, with a purplish color and telangiectatic surface. Tomographic examination showed an expansile hypodense lesion in the periapical region of teeth 21 to 24, with ill-defined limits. An incisional biopsy was performed and the immunohistochemical study showed positivity for LCA, CD20, PAX5, CD10, and BCL-6 in more than 30% of cells, and BCL-2 in less than 30% of cells. CD3 and MUM-1 antibodies were negatives. The diagnosis of Diffuse Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma was established, and the patient was referred to an oncologist. He was treated with chemotherapy showing significant improvement.
