Resumo: Osteosarcoma is one of the most common malignant lesions of bone origin, however it comprises only 6%/8% of all osteosarcomas. It is a lesion commonly found between the third and fourth decade of life, in addition to having a similar proportion of appearing between the mandible and maxilla. This study aims to report the case of a female patient, 64 years old, caucasian, affected by a high-grade osteoblastic osteosarcoma. The patient presented edema in the posterior region of the maxilla, paresthesia and nasal obstruction. Panoramic radiography and CT scans along with anatomopathological examination were performed. Histopathologically, an intense volume of osteoid was found. Left radial maxillectomy was the election treatment. The patient was first rehabilitated with a provisional palatal obturator prosthesis, to improve her nutritional status. Her rehabilitation was planned and accomplished with a mandible removable partial denture and a removable partial maxillary obturator denture.
