Título: MUCOEPIDERMOID CARCINOMA ON THE FLOOR OF THE MOUTH: A CASE REPORT

Resumo: A 60-year-old man sought the dental service with a lesion in the oral mucosa. The intraoral examination showed a nodular, painless, normochromic and non-bleeding lesion with approximately 30 days of evolution, affecting the right region of the mouth floor with a clinical hypothesis of adenoma. The biopsy was performed and the histopathological analysis revealed a malignant neoplastic lesion of the salivary gland characterized by the proliferation of mucous cells, epidermoids and intermediate cells arranged either in sheets or in islands forming cystic spaces with eosinophilic content inside, sometimes they are covered by basaloid mucous cells. The diagnosis of mucoepidermoid carcinoma was established and the patient was referred for treatment at the oncology referral center.
