Título: Ischaemic necrosis of the tongue - a rare case

Resumo: Ischemic necrosis of the tongue is an uncommon clinical finding and may be associated with several pathologies, such as vasculitis, giant cell arteritis and cardiogenic shock.
The objective of this report is to present a case of lingual necrosis. A 58-year-old male presented with a history of acute myocardial infarction and a transluminal coronary angioplasty of the anterior descending artery.
The patient was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) with cardiogenic shock, using of vasoactivity drugs. In the ICU, an evaluation was requested to dental team due to a lesion on the tongue, corresponding to lingual necrosis, and it was possible to observe lesions in other extremities.
The patient was followed up, we performed laser therapy and surgical debridement planning. The patient was assisted and followed up by the multidisciplinary team and was discharged with lingual mobility already reestablished.
