Título: Stevens Johnson Syndrome: a case report

Resumo: A 62 year-old man, in polimiositis treatment for 12 years with imunotherapy, was admitted to hospital to investigate a complaint of high fever for the last 3 days. Fifteen days before he suffered a traumatic subdural hematoma surgery removal, and then he started to use antiepileptic drugs. In order to identify an infectious agent, different cultures were made in blood, secretions, and liquor. Despite no positivity, it was introduced some antibiotics. In the 11º day, he presented multiple ulcers in mouth and lips, associated to white plaques suggesting candidosis, dry and erithematous eyes, and exantema on the body. Fever was still present. Stevens Jonhson's Syndrome was diagnosed relying on clinical signs. The antiepileptics drugs were changed, and antibioticotherapy stopped; only symptomatic treatment was maintained, and introduced corticoids. The course was favourable 10 days after, and finally the patient could go home. Polypharmacy can lead to adverse drug reactions.
