Resumo: Squamous cell carcinoma it rarely occurs in patients who are less than 30 years old. This report describes a case of squamous cell carcinoma of a 28-year-old, white, female patient, nurse, non- smoking with rare drinking habits and main complaint of ulcer on the tongue for 3 months. On intraoral examination, was identified an ulcerated lesion on the edge of the tongue, measuring approximately 2.5cm, irregular surfaces and hard consistency. The patient underwent biopsy with histopathological analysis compatible with squamous cell carcinoma, being investigated for HPV 16 (PCR), which was negative. Subsequently, she was referred to head and neck surgeon with surgical removal and ipsilateral emptying of the lymph nodes. Then, she underwent radiotherapy and chemotherapy and was prepared with preventive laser therapy of the oral mucosa. The patient is under multidisciplinary monitoring and in the sixth year, with a stable pattern of the affected region and general health.
