Resumo: Glandular odontogenic cyst is a rare developmental odontogenic cyst that may exhibit aggressive behavior and a propensity to recidive. It is frequently found in middle-aged adults, preferentially affecting the anterior region of the gnathic bones, especially the mandible. It presents nonspecific clinical and radiographic findings that may resemble other lesions, but has specific histopathological characteristics that aid in the diagnosis. The objective of this study is to report an unusual presentation of a glandular odontogenic cyst diagnosed in the posterior maxillary region of a 47-year-old female patient, in which the first diagnostic hypothesis was a radicular cyst.
