Título: DIFFUSE LARGE B-CELL LYMPHOMA IN THE BUCCAL MUCOSA - A CASE REPORT

Resumo: A 67-year-old female patient presented with a complaint of an asymptomatic oral lump lasting about 10 years, which had recently shown a marked growth. The patient reported a salpingectomy 40 years before; absence of any current medication, and no history of smoking or alcohol intake. Clinical examination showed two submucous mobile nodules firm to palpation, one of them in the right buccal mucosa measuring 1.5 cm X 1.2 cm, and the other one on the left side of the floor of the mouth with 0.7 cm X 0.8 cm. Lymphadenopathy was observed in the right submandibular region. Laboratory tests showed anemia, leukocytosis, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate of 89 mm/h. Other tests, including anti-HCV and anti-HIV, were normal. Excisional biopsy of the buccal mucosa nodule was performed, and hematoxylin/eosin and immunohistochemical analyses revealed the diagnosis of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. The patient was referred to the Oncology service and started chemotherapy.
