Resumo: A 46-year-old female patient was diagnosed with multiple myeloma undergoing treatment with chemotherapy CTD protocol followed by autologous stem cell transplantation and zolendronic acid use. Her complaints included paresthesia in the left mental region with increased volume. The physical examination revealed a 4.5cm rubbery nodule in the region with intact epithelium. A cone-bean computed tomography revealed osteolytic image of the medullary bone and cortical disruption in the left lower alveolar ridge. An incisional biopsy was performed revealing a malignant process with plasma cells with positivity for CD138, CD56, MUM1 and lambda monoclonality. These features lead to diagnosis of plasmacytoma. Further imaging studies revealed widespread osteolytic lesions in other bones. After that, the patient was referred to the hematology department, and the VCD protocol was started. Therefore, multiprofessional approach contributed to the diagnosis of the recurrence of the multiple myeloma, changing the treatment and increasing the chance of better therapeutic results.
