Título: PALATINE AND PHARYNGEAL REHABILITATION FOR MAXILLECTOMIZED ONCOLOGICAL PATIENTS - A CASE REPORT

Resumo: A 52-year-old white male patient, non-smoker and non-drinker was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma stage pTN0M0 treated with left subtotal maxillectomy. The treatment consisted of surgical approach of maxillary bone followed by radiotherapy performing 30 fractions of 200cGy. The patient presented a disease recurrence in the sphenoid bone treated with a new cycle of radiotherapy SBRT CP 4/5x80cGy The patient was followed up by dental care during radiotherapy for oral mucositis preventive photobiomodulation. At the end of this moment, the completion with oral rehabilitation afterwards was performed. On oral physical examination, he presented all teeth in the lower jaw and partially in the upper jaw due to the surgical approach. A 5-centimeter bone defect was seen comprising both the soft and hard palate and a resin prosthetic device covered the bone defect. In conclusion, it promoted occlusal restoration, improved aesthetics and functional speech.
