Título: Peripheral ameloblastoma interpreted as torus

Resumo: A 57-year-old Caucasian female patient came to the office referred by her dentist to evaluate a mandible lesion, whose evolution was 15 years old and had a prior diagnosis of the mandibular torus. According to the dentist, the torus was increasing and changing its appearance, but it remained asymptomatic. On clinical examination, an exophytic enlargement, well delimited, slightly whitish mucosa, measuring 0.5 cm in its largest diameter, and firm to palpation in the lingual region of the left side of the mandible was observed. Imaging exams were requested in which a cup resorption area was noticed. The lesion was removed and the entire region was curetted, during the intraoperative session. The material was sent for histopathological analysis, whose diagnosis was of extra-osseous or peripheral ameloblastoma. The team decided on a clinical and radiographic follow-up of the patient. She is currently without any bone changes or clinical complaints.
