Título: ANAPLASTIC MYELOMA IN TONSIL TISSUE: A CASE REPORT

Resumo: A 61-year-old male patient, former-smoker, social drinker, presented a swelling in the left tonsil area, with ulcerated surface, necrosis, bleeding and no cervical lymphadenopathy. Previously, in another service, a diagnosis of chronic tonsillitis was made, but the lesion continued growing. New incisional biopsy was taken, which revealed plasmablastic neoplasia with lambda monoclonality. PET-CT showed glycolytic hypermetabolism in expansive lesions with bone lysis located in the frontal bone, in the roof of the right orbit, in the left tonsil and in the sternal end of the left clavicle. Patient was referred to hematology, which performed clinical and laboratory examinations, concluding the diagnosis of anaplastic myeloma. Currently, the patient was initially treated with a VTD protocol and he is a bone marrow transplantation candidate. It is concluded that the multidisciplinary approach contributed to the final diagnosis of this rare case, initiating the early treatment and improving the treatment results.
