Resumo: The present study aimed to perform a comparative histomorphometric analysis of chronic pulp pathologies, evaluating changes in inflammatory intensity, the extracellular matrix, and mineralization processes. A total of 29 histological slides, previously diagnosed as chronic hyperplastic irreversible pulpitis, chronic ulcerative pulpitis, and chronic sclerosing pulpitis, were analyzed using Hematoxylin and Eosin, Picrosirius Red, and Von Kossa staining techniques. The samples were assessed regarding the intensity of the inflammatory infiltrate, collagen fiber density, and the presence of mineralized areas. A reduction in the inflammatory infiltrate associated with an increase in type I collagen was observed, along with a higher frequency of mineralization in sclerosing forms. These findings indicate a relationship between inflammation and extracellular matrix remodeling, suggesting tissue progression from an active inflammatory pattern to a fibrotic and, at times, mineralized state. This study contributes to the histomorphometric characterization of chronic pulp pathologies and to the refinement of comparative histopathological criteria.
