Título: Treatment of lingual AVM by photocoagulation with high-power, defocused superpulsed diode laser: case report

Resumo: A 66-year-old female patient reported a nodule on the right lateral border of her tongue since adolescence. She had previously undergone surgical excision, followed by recurrence and slow growth, with more pronounced increase in the last three years. Intraoral examination revealed a firm, purplish nodular lesion on the dorsum and right lateral border of the tongue, measuring approximately 3 cm, suggestive of arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Treatment consisted of four photocoagulation sessions using a high-power superpulsed dual diode laser (810 + 980 nm), in defocused mode, at 1.5-2 W, applied to the lesion. Adjuvant therapy included topical Ad-muc® and photobiomodulation for pain control and healing. The treatment was effective, well tolerated, and resulted in satisfactory clinical outcomes, without complications or recurrence during follow-up.
