Resumo: Proliferative verrucous leukoplakia (PVL) is an oral potentially malignant disorder (OPMD) characterized by multifocal lesion development and a high risk of malignant transformation. Although surgical excision is considered the standard treatment, laser ablation has emerged as a minimally invasive and effective alternative. In this case series, six patients (five females and one male) were diagnosed with PVL based on clinical and histopathological analysis. All lesions were biopsied prior to diode laser ablation (Thera Lase Surgical, DMC, 2-2,5W, contact and pulse mode 1.1 W, 20 Hz). Three patients required multiple treatment sessions, while the remaining patients were successfully treated and managed with a single session. Healing was uneventful in all cases, postoperative outcomes were with favorable outcomes, with minimal pain and bleeding. Although diode laser ablation appears to be a promising minimally invasive option, long-term follow-up is essential due to the risk of recurrence and malignant transformation.
