Título: ORAL INVOLVEMENT LEADING TO THE DIAGNOSIS OF DISSEMINATED MANTLE CELL LYMPHOMA: CASE REPORT

Resumo: A 69-year-old male patient presented with a one month-history of a diffuse multilobular and bilateral swelling involving the hard and soft palate, extending into the nasal cavity. Imaging studies revealed an expansive and infiltrative lesion on the oropharynx associated with multiple cervical, mediastinal, and abdominal lymphadenopathies, as well as splenomegaly. Based on the clinical hypotheses of a squamous cell carcinoma, a malignant salivary glands neoplasm, and other unspecified malignant neoplasm, an incisional biopsy was performed. Histopathological analysis of the specimen revealed a monotonous proliferation of small, round, and hyperchromatic cells, suggestive of malignant lymphocytes diffusely dispersed within the connective tissue. Immunohistochemical analysis demonstrated positivity for LCA, CD20, CD5, cyclin D1, and BCL-2, and negativity for CD3, BCL-6, CD10, CD138, CD23, and TdT. The proliferation index measured by Ki-67 was approximately 10%. The histomorphological and immunohistochemical findings were consistent with mantle cell lymphoma. The patient has been referred to oncological treatment.
