Resumo: A 65-year-old female patient, melanoderm, with no reported comorbidities, presented with a complaint of a "lump on the lip." Intraoral examination revealed a solitary, painless, well-circumscribed, normochromic nodule with a sessile base, firm consistency, measuring approximately 1.0 cm, located on the upper lip, with an evolution time of about one year.The initial diagnostic hypothesis was a neoplasm of glandular origin. An biopsy was performed, and the histopathological report indicated a mesenchymal neoplasm of possible muscular or neural origin. Based on histochemical staining and the immunohistochemical panel, the final diagnosis was leiomyoma. We conclude that the association of histopathological analysis with immunohistochemistry was essential for diagnostic clarification, enabling the establishment of a safe and effective therapeutic plan.
