Resumo:
Osteosarcoma, a malignant mesenchymal neoplasm characterized by the production of osteoid by neoplastic cells, is more common in young people in the second decade of life and in long bones; it is infrequent in the jaws. It is aggressive in behavior and its treatment requires mutilating surgical resection associated with chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy; in the jaws it significantly deteriorates the quality of life of our patients.
Two patients are presented, female gender between 40 and 50 years old who debuted with increased volume in the jaw with great histopathological complexity and difficult diagnosis, both with lability in the antineoplastic defense, in one case due to immunosuppression by transplant and in the other due to a mutation in P53, manifested as a Li-Fraumeni.
The complex diagnosis, along with the coexistence of difficult-to-manage diseases, was a great challenge that forever marked the treating health team.
