Resumo: A 17-year-old female patient attended a private dental clinic. An imaging study corresponding to orthopantomography identified a radiolucent area with diffuse borders, located between the dental organs 36 and 35. Therefore, another imaging was taken which corresponded to an occlusal X-ray where a diffuse radiopaque area in the pattern of sun rays was identified next to dental organ 36. Surgical excisional biopsy was performed. The specimen was processed and demineralized for subsequent histopathological study. Due to the appearance of a benign mesenchymal neoplasm characterized by a proliferation of cells of mesenchymal origin with osteoprogenitor resemblance, bone matrix deposits, different cell types that are involved in the formation, maintenance, remodeling and destruction of bone. The outcome of this interaction results in the formation of an amorphous eosinophilic matrix fragments with different degrees of mineralization. The diagnosis of benign mesenchymal neoplasm (osteoblastoma) in the left side of the mandibular body was issued.
