Resumo: Congenital oral soft tissue cysts are rare. This case describes a congenital oral epidermoid cyst in an infant. An 8-month-old male infant was referred for evaluation of an oral nodule present since birth. The childs past medical history was unremarkable. According to his mother, the child showed normal development, with no feeding restrictions or signs of pain or discomfort. A slight increase in the lesion size was recently noted. Intraoral examination revealed a yellowish, well-circumscribed and mobile submucous nodule located on the left floor of the mouth, measuring 0.8 cm in diameter. Based on the clinical hypothesis of a developmental cystic lesion, surgical excision was performed. Histopathological analyses revealed a cystic cavity lined by stratified, squamous and parakeratinized epithelium. No cutaneous adnexal were observed in fibrous capsule. A diagnosis of epidermoid cyst was established. No postoperative complications were observed. After 6 months of follow-up, no signs of recurrence were noted.
