Resumo: A 12-year-old male patient presented with facial asymmetry and erythema on
the left side of the face. The lesion had been present since birth, following his
growth, with reported increase in volume during physical activity. Previous
imaging had demonstrated vascular content, and prior sclerotherapy showed no
clinical improvement. Physical examination revealed a poorly delimited,
purplish, lobulated, asymptomatic submucosal lesion extending from the upper
lip to the buccal mucosa, with soft consistency on palpation. Diascopy was
positive, supporting the diagnosis of vascular malformation. Diode laser
photocoagulation (2000 mW, 646 J, 5:23 minutes) was performed under local
anesthesia. After treatment, significant regression was observed clinically and
on computed tomography, with normalization of color and reduction of facial
asymmetry. The patient remains under follow-up.
