Resumo: A 24-year-old Caucasian female was referred for dental treatment. She had been diagnosed with systemic sclerosis 10 years previously and had presented with Raynaud's phenomenon since the age of 11. At the initial physical examination, she exhibited facial telangiectasias, sclerodactyly, arthralgia, myalgia, joint stiffness with muscle weakness, esophageal dysmotility, and multisystem involvement including cardiac, renal, and mild pulmonary hypertension. One year earlier, she developed calcified subcutaneous nodules in the upper and lower limbs, confirming the diagnosis of CREST syndrome. Intraoral examination revealed marked microstomia and xerostomia. Her ongoing medication regimen included prednisone, fluoxetine, omeprazole, nifedipine, methotrexate, cyclophosphamide, and alendronate. Tooth extraction and restorative treatment were performed without complications. The patient subsequently succumbed to progressive multisystem complications of systemic sclerosis, including advanced pulmonary hypertension and multiorgan failure.
