Resumo: This study reports two cases involving minor salivary glands. Case 1: A 44-year-old woman presented with a lesion previously diagnosed by incisional biopsy as basal cell adenoma, with unknown duration. Five months later, a firm 2 cm nodule was observed in the buccal mucosa. The surgical specimen showed well-defined solid and cystic areas with mucous cells, and nests and sheets of intermediate and epidermoid cells, with involved margins. Case 2: A 45-year-old man had a lesion initially diagnosed as sebaceous adenoma. Eight months later, a 1.4 cm palatal mass was identified. Under suspicion of pleomorphic adenoma or mucoepidermoid carcinoma, a new biopsy revealed neoplastic islands, microcysts, dyskeratosis, mitoses, and mild pleomorphism. Both cases were diagnosed as mucoepidermoid carcinoma. Patients remain under follow-up after surgical treatment.
