Título: Unusual Early-Onset Lip Squamous Cell Carcinoma in a Young Military Patient with Chronic Ultraviolet Exposure

Resumo: Oral cancer is a significant public health problem. Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the lip predominantly affects white men between the sixth and seventh decades of life. Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation is the main etiological factor, with military personnel being an occupational risk group. We present a case of early-onset SCC of the lip in a 29-year-old male marine. The patient presented with an ulcerated lesion on his lower lip that had been evolving for nine weeks. Clinical examination revealed a hardened, ulcerated mass with areas of atrophy and hypoesthesia. An incisional biopsy was performed, and histopathological examination confirmed SCC. The patient underwent vermilionectomy and is under periodic follow-up, without recurrence. There was functional readjustment and reinforcement of preventive measures. This case highlights the need for screening and early diagnosis in military personnel, as well as the development of preventive measures and specific photoprotection products for this group.
