Título: ATYPICAL CASE OF BILATERAL SIMPLE BONE CYST IN MANDIBLE

Resumo: A 46-year-old female patient was referred to the service presenting with acute pain and bilateral pressure sensation in the mandibular region. Clinical examination revealed slight bilateral swelling in the region of the mandibular first molars. Pulp vitality testing demonstrated positive responses in all involved teeth. CBCT revealed two well-defined, non-communicating hypodense lesions, extending from teeth 34 to 37 and from 44 to 48, raising suspicion of odontogenic or non-odontogenic cystic lesions, thus indicating the need for a biopsy to establish a definitive diagnosis. During the exploratory biopsy, two empty intraosseous cavities were identified, with no epithelial lining or cystic content. The cavities were curetted and thoroughly irrigated to stimulate bleeding and bone repair. Based on the clinical, radiographic, and intraoperative findings, the final diagnosis for both lesions was bilateral simple bone cysts. At the three-month follow-up, the patient remained asymptomatic, and a new CBCT demonstrated initial signs of bone regeneration.
