Título: Trends in Medications Associated with MRONJ Risk in a Public Health Network

Resumo: Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (MRONJ) is a severe complication linked to antiresorptive and immunosuppressive therapies. This study aimed to evaluate trends in the dispensation of medications associated with MRONJ risk in the Federal District Health Secretariat from 2016 to 2024, to characterize changes in the population's risk profile. A cross-sectional, descriptive, retrospective study was conducted using official secondary data obtained via the Access to Information Law. Only medications for osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis were included: Alendronate, Zoledronic Acid, Methotrexate, and Adalimumab. Descriptive analysis assessed temporal trends and percentage variation. Results showed a decline in bisphosphonates (Alendronate −54%; Zoledronic Acid −81%) and an increase in immunomodulators (Methotrexate +60%; Adalimumab +94%). These findings indicate a shift in MRONJ risk toward immunosuppression, highlighting the need to update prevention strategies and oral health protocols in Primary Care.
