Título: Stomatology and Oncology in Public Health: A Report of Three Cases in Maricá, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Resumo: Cancer represents a growing public health challenge with high incidence in Brazil, being a major cause of morbidity and mortality according to National Cancer Institute (INCA) estimates for 2026-2028. Among the adverse effects of oncologic therapy, oral mucositis and secondary candidiasis are prominent; severe mucositis may require interruption of treatment. This study reports three clinical cases managed by Stomatology services within the public health system. Case 1: 56-year-old female undergoing chemotherapy for colorectal adenocarcinoma, presenting with tongue candidiasis. Case 2: 58-year-old female receiving head and neck radiotherapy for oral squamous cell carcinoma, with mucositis, candidiasis, and trismus. Case 3: 65-year-old male undergoing chemoradiotherapy for oral cancer, presenting with extensive mucositis, candidiasis, and trismus. Photobiomodulation and pharmacological therapy were used. Access to specialized stomatological care in public healthcare improves quality of life and supports patient recovery.
