Resumo: A patient presented with a nodular lesion on the palate with a 15-year history of slow growth. Intraoral examination revealed a well-defined submucosal swelling. As part of the diagnostic approach, aspiration puncture was performed, yielding a dark yellowish fluid. This finding, combined with the clinical history, raised suspicion of a salivary gland neoplasm, with mucoepidermoid carcinoma considered the primary hypothesis due to its association with mucous content. An incisional biopsy was subsequently performed to establish a definitive diagnosis. Histopathological analysis revealed pleomorphic adenoma. This case highlights the importance of integrating clinical examination, semiological methods, and histopathological evaluation in the diagnostic process of salivary gland lesions. Although certain findings may suggest specific entities, they are not definitive when considered in isolation. The final diagnosis relies on comprehensive assessment, emphasizing the complementary role of each diagnostic step in ensuring accurate diagnosis and appropriate patient management.
