Área Temática: Patologia Oral

Resumo: A 23-year-old male with no significant medical history presented with a mobile, asymptomatic swelling
on the attached gingiva and vestibular sulcus of the left maxillary molar region. Clinically, the lesion
exhibited a lobulated, erythematous surface with firm consistency. The initial clinical differential
diagnosis suggested a reactive lesion such as peripheral giant cell granuloma. Imaging studies
revealed a radiopaque lesion with apparent extension from the maxillary sinus protruding into oral
cavity. Surgical management was performed, followed by histopathological examination. Microscopic
analysis revealed a malignant epithelial neoplasm consistent with sinonasal carcinoma extending into
maxillary structures and oral cavity. The patient was referred to as multidisciplinary oncologic
management. This case highlights the importance of considering sinonasal malignancies extending
into the oral cavity in the differential diagnosis of lesions that clinically mimic benign reactive
processes. Additionally, a possible association with occupational exposure in the leather industry,
initially overlooked during the diagnostic evaluation, is emphasized.
