Título: Maxillary Adenoid Ameloblastoma with Unicystic Ameloblastoma-Like Areas: Case Report and Immunohistochemical Analysis

Resumo: Adenoid ameloblastoma (AA) is a rare odontogenic tumor, recognized as a distinct entity in the latest 2023 WHO Classification. It is characterized by a cribriform architecture, duct-like structures, and dentinoid formation, as well as the absence of BRAF mutations. Between 1959 and 2024, about 58 cases of AA have been reported. It predominantly affects adults, with a slight male predilection, without site predilection. Surgical management is the treatment of choice. A 30-year-old man was referred presenting an intraosseous lesion in the anterior region of the maxilla. The lesion was completely enucleated. The microscopy revealed AA associated with, and in close transition to, typical areas of unicystic ameloblastoma, luminal type. By immunohistochemistry, pan-CK, CK5/6, CK19, β-catenin (nuclear) were positive. BRAV V600E (VE1) was negative, while Ki-67 showed low expression (<5%). To our knowledge, an association between AA and unicystic ameloblastoma has not been reported, expanding the clinicopathological spectrum of AA.
