Resumo: Peripheral ossifying fibroma is a reactive gingival lesion commonly associated with local irritative factors. A 47-year-old female patient presented with a 1 cm sessile gingival nodule located between the maxillary canine and first premolar, with unknown duration. Clinical examination revealed a firm lesion covered by normal-colored mucosa. Periapical radiography revealed no radiographic abnormalities. Differential diagnoses included pyogenic granuloma and peripheral giant cell granuloma. Excisional biopsy was performed as definitive treatment. Histopathological analysis demonstrated fibrous connective tissue proliferation associated with mineralized material compatible with bone formation, confirming peripheral ossifying fibroma. After six months of follow-up, healing was satisfactory with no recurrence.
