Resumo: Mucocele is the most common lesion affecting minor salivary glands and typically involves the lower lip. An 19-year-old male patient presented with an 18-month history of progressive swelling of the left buccal mucosa, resulting in facial asymmetry. The lesion was asymptomatic and not associated with trauma. Clinical examination revealed a large, fluctuant, normal-colored lesion with soft consistency. Lipoma and salivary duct cyst were considered as differential diagnoses. An excisional biopsy was performed. Histopathological examination revealed a cyst-like cavity without epithelial lining, surrounded by granulation tissue and containing mucin with numerous foamy macrophages, confirming a mucus extravasation phenomenon consistent with mucocele. Six months after surgical removal, no signs of recurrence were observed.
