Resumo: Mucoepidermoid carcinoma is the most common malignant salivary gland neoplasm and may present diagnostic challenges when affecting minor salivary glands. A 27-year-old woman presented with a one-year history of bleeding in the right retromolar region during toothbrushing. Intraoral examination revealed an exophytic, lobulated, ulcerated lesion adjacent to tooth 48, without pain. Panoramic radiography demonstrated superficial cupping-type resorption of the underlying alveolar bone, initially suggesting peripheral giant cell granuloma. An incisional biopsy was performed. Histopathological examination confirmed mucoepidermoid carcinoma. The patient underwent complete surgical excision performed by a head and neck surgeon and is currently receiving adjuvant radiotherapy.
