Resumo: Subgemmal neurogenic plaque (SNP) is a non-neoplastic anatomical variation predominantly found on the posterolateral tongue border, adjacent to the foliate papillae. Five patients presented with nodular lesions in this region, associated with erythematous areas and localized burning sensation. Clinical examination revealed small, well-circumscribed nodules. Excisional biopsy was performed in all cases. Histopathathological analysis demonstrated a characteristic biphasic pattern consisting of a superficial, non-encapsulated neural plexus and deeper nerve bundles, confirming the diagnosis. Postoperative follow-up after one year showed resolution of symptoms and no complications. Awareness of SNP is essential to avoid misdiagnosis and unnecessary treatment.
