Título: MEDICATION-RELATED OSTEONECROSIS OF THE JAWS FOLLOWING TOOTH EXTRACTION IN A PATIENT USING ORAL RISEDRONATE

Resumo: A 76-year-old female patient was referred for evaluation of a painful mandibular lesion after tooth extraction in the anterior mandible, followed by delayed healing and recurrent infection. Her medical history included hypertension, diabetes mellitus, anemia, and long-term oral risedronate therapy for osteopenia. Clinical examination revealed extraoral swelling and an intraoral erythematous lesion with purulent drainage. Panoramic radiography demonstrated bone sequestration. Based on clinical and radiographic findings and history of risedronate use, medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaws was diagnosed. Initial management with saline irrigation and systemic amoxicillin/clavulanate showed no improvement. Surgical debridement under general anesthesia was performed. After 6 months of follow-up, healing was satisfactory with no recurrence.
