Resumo: Non-odontogenic epithelial lesions of embryonic origin, although they differ in location and characteristics. Nasolabial cyst is rare, extraosseous in development, located laterally to the midline in the soft tissues of the upper lip and nasal floor. Usually asymptomatic but may cause nasal obstruction and aesthetic deformity. Origin is uncertain, possibly related to the fusion of facial processes or to the nasolacrimal duct epithelium. Nasopalatine duct cyst is intraosseous, located in the midline of the anterior palate and originates from remnants of the nasopalatine duct. Clinically, it may be asymptomatic or cause pain and swelling, often appearing as a radiolucent image between the central incisors. Both lesions present variable epithelial linings, predominantly respiratory epithelium in the nasolabial cyst and squamous epithelium in the nasopalatine duct cyst. Treatment is surgical in both cases, with a low recurrence rate. Proper differential diagnosis is essential due to clinical and histological similarities with other lesions.
