Resumo: Objective: To describe the sociodemographic profile, risk factors, and prognosis of individuals affected by malignant neoplasms of the major salivary glands in Brazil. Study design: A cross-sectional study based on secondary data extracted from the RHC public database between 2000 and 2022. Data were tabulated using SPSS, and associations were assessed using the Chi-square test. Results: A total of 14,627 cases were recorded during the study period, with a higher prevalence among males (n=7,986; 54.6%), and most cases occurred in the Southeast region (47.2%). Most individuals had up to 12 years of education, and the proportion of men with no formal education was significantly higher than that of women (p<0.001). While the majority did not use tobacco or alcohol, among users, men predominated (p<0.001). At diagnosis, 60.3% of patients were in stage III or IV, with advanced stages being more frequent among men (p<0.001). After initial treatment, the most common outcomes were complete remission (32.4%) and stable disease (31.4%). Although mortality was higher among men, the difference was not statistically significant (p=0.30). Conclusion: During the analyzed period, male sex was associated with risk factors (higher prevalence, lack of education, tobacco and alcohol use) and worse outcomes (advanced stage and mortality).
