Resumo: A 29-year-old melanoderm patient presented to the Oral Medicine Clinic complaining of skin and oral lesions. The patient reported the onset of skin lesions three years prior, with a biopsy showing chronic dermatitis. Seven months ago, the patient developed weight loss, asthenia, cough, and a palatal lesion. Additionally, the patient had prolonged contact with a dog that presented cutaneous ulcers for eight months and died five days before the consultation. Extraoral examination revealed lesions on the abdomen and thorax. Intraoral examination showed a normochromic nodule with papillary surface, reddish spots, and irregular margins on the soft palate, extending to the oropharynx. An incisional biopsy was performed, confirming leishmaniasis through histopathological analysis. The patient was referred to the Infectious Diseases Department and treated with amphotericin B, achieving complete lesion resolution. Currently, the patient remains under follow-up in the Oral Medicine Clinic, without evidence of recurrence.
