Resumo: Hospital dentistry is key in treating patients with special needs (PSN) who require general anesthesia and cannot undergo outpatient procedures. This case report describes a 9-year-old male patient with moderate autism spectrum disorder (ASD) treated in a hospital dental setting for the morphofunctional restoration of decayed teeth (13, 11, 21, 22, 23, 41, 42), a fractured tooth (12), and generalized biofilm removal. Tooth 12 was restored using an acetate crown, while the others received direct composite restorations. For teeth 12, 11, 21, and 22, an opacifying resin was applied before dentin and enamel composites to mask discoloration caused by silver diamine fluoride. Restorations were finished and polished to remove excess material, ensure smooth surfaces, and prevent biofilm accumulation. Hospital dentistry is essential for PSN, as it provides safe and effective care and enables caregivers to maintain the patient's oral health after treatment.
