Resumo: Sjögrens Syndrome is a systemic autoimmune disorder predominantly affecting exocrine glands, more prevalent in middle-aged women. In the oral cavity, it significantly impacts salivary glands, compromising quality of life. A 37-year-old female patient was referred from rheumatology to our dental service due to chronic fatigue, morning stiffness, right parotid swelling, xerostomia, and xerophthalmia. External exams included: RF 107 (<30), ANA 1:640 (fine speckled nuclear pattern), CRP 1.3, and ESR 22. Intraoral examination revealed dry mucosa and multiple dental caries. Sialometry indicated severe hyposalivation. A lower lip minor salivary glands biopsy showed multifocal lymphocytic infiltrates with aggregates and a focus score >1, confirming the diagnosis. Treatment included saliva substitute, oral antiseptics, and fluoride solutions, alongside referrals to otorhinolaryngology and rheumatology. The dental teams intervention was critical in both diagnosing and managing the condition, highlighting the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to restoring the patients overall quality of life.
