Resumo: Osteosarcoma int the jaw is rare, and there are reports of occurrence in areas treated with dental implants, a poorly understood association. The objective is to present a case of osteosarcoma that has been treated as sinusitis resulting from dental implants installation. A 62-year-old woman was referred by the otorhinolaryngologist requesting joint surgical intervention for the treatment of sinusitis and osteomyelitis related to the extrusion of osteoinductive material. The patient reported pain and treatment for a refractory infection after implants surgery. Computed tomography revealed bone erosion, with opacification and radiopaque nodules in the right maxillary sinus. A firm nodular lesion, covered by intact mucosa and points of ulceration were observed in the right maxilla. A biopsy was performed, which was compatible with high-grade osteosarcoma, with positive immunohistochemistry for S100. The patient underwent maxillectomy and neck dissection, in addition to radiotherapy, and is currently being monitored.
