Resumo: This study reports three cases of bilateral congenital absence of upper lateral incisors across three generations of the same family. The grandmother presented with transposition of the right canine and retained the left deciduous lateral incisor until age 70. The mother exhibited bilateral canine transposition and retained her deciduous canines until age 42. The 5-year-old daughter shows agenesis of both the deciduous and permanent lateral incisors. No treatment was performed for the grandmother. The mother underwent orthodontic treatment and reanatomization of the canines, while the daughter is under monitoring in preparation for future orthopedic maxillary treatment. Dental agenesis is predominantly hereditary. Treatment options include space closure with tooth reanatomization or space opening for implant placement. Careful evaluation of each patient's biological response is essential to select the most appropriate treatment, aiming to minimize both functional and aesthetic consequences.
